Ever heard of the word, Understander?
All
your life you play the role--understanding immature people and getting blamed
by them for everything they do wrong. Sounds cool, isn't it? You always have to give way, keep mum, just understand their situation in life, and in the end even get all the blame.
You just bear all that burden quietly in hopes that God will come to the rescue and prove them wrong and you right. But nothing like that happens, You just suffer, period. And they seem to get more prosperous, and then more arrogant.
But they occupy the highest positions. They all want positions. And they want you to be their follower, one who always listens to them and be their yes man. Of course, I don't let it come to that--I am never impressed by pride, self-centerdness and arrogance. But still, I have to understand their situation and just keep quiet most times.
Therefore the prudent keep quiet in such times, for the times are evil. [Amos 5.13]
It's incredible how these people see themselves as leaders, as more intelligent and more capable. They see themselves as great. And yet you see their pitiful immaturity, acting like kids making sure no one grabs their lollipops from them.
Yet, often you have no choice but to obey them because they are in position. You have to force yourself to listen to their speeches and lectures.
Is this the role God has appointed me and my wife for the rest of our lives? Sometimes it gets tiresome.
But then I believe that they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
