When Immature People Try to Teach You What to Do: Have You Ever Experienced This?

brucegerencser.ne
It's what actually happened to Job and his friends. They wanted to teach Job what to do because they thought they knew God better than he did.

The really ridiculous thing is, though we all know this well, a lot of people still never get it. They still try to teach people more mature than they are in spirit.

You know what real mature people would do when you're in trouble or complaining about a problem? They listen and pray for you. They don't correct or rebuke you for your "wrongs." And they will never compare themselves with you.

Well, there is this guy who thinks he knows more than I do in spirituality and in ministry. I never ask him his opinion or ask his help but he forces them on me. he thinks he knows how to make my ministry grow better.

He's the type of guy who bases everything on what his physical eyes see. And always, as all carnal people do, he bases everything on money. You're not successful if what you do does not equate to more money.

He's a pastor (according to him and his family) but he's so hot-headed. He easily gets mad at people and would want to harm them physically for offending him. There was a time when we were eating iced dessert in a mall when he suddenly got mad at the waiter simply because he wasn't given as much yam jam as he wanted.

Just that and he was raging with fury, wanting to punch all the waiters in the establishment.

And then he wanted to "teach me" about spirituality in the Lord and about ministry. He wanted to teach me standards in the ministry.

This guy is so blind and self-conceited that I told her sister how he needed to be genuinely born-again. Genuine born-again is not a recitation of accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior and confessing sins just to escape going to hell.

Genuine born again is receiving Christ after genuine repentance because you're tired of your sinful nature and want to be totally transformed to live the very LIFE of Jesus Christ.

This guy is different--he loves his old self and clings to it desperately, reasoning out that he's only human and God made him that way--so God understands him. Sure, he knows all the church, worship and bible lingo and claims to always "meditate" God's Word. And he always boasts that he has lots of money, and that his riches is a sure sign that God is favoring him over me.

So, what do you do with guys like this?

Nothing. You just ignore what he says. You don't explain anything to him because the unspiritual man does not understand the things of the Spirit.
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. [1 Corinthians 2.14]
I just pray that he really gets born again and be a new creation in Christ. The old is past, the new has come.
